King Charles attends church on Queen Elizabeth’s 98th posthumous birthday

King Charles III and Queen Camilla spent what would have been Queen Elizabeth’s 98th birthday attending church companies.

The royals had been photographed leaving a church service at Crathie Kirk close to Balmoral Citadel in Scotland.

Charles, 75, drove himself and his spouse, 76, to and from the service and the pair waved to onlookers as they left.

The late monarch, who reigned for greater than 70 years, was remembered on social media all through the day.

Elizabeth’s former daughter-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, posted a tribute on Instagram.

“Immediately we’re remembering Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 97th (sic) birthday,” the Duchess of York, 64, wrote alongside a photograph of the previous queen. “Thanks for all that you’ve got taught us, for being a steadfast chief and pricey pal. You might be sorely missed.”

The official Instagram account for Westminister Abbey, which was the placement for Elizabeth’s coronation in 1952 and her funeral, additionally marked the day.

This 12 months marks the second posthumous birthday for Elizabeth following her September 2022 demise at age 96.
