Chilean filmmaker Maite Alberdi’s Alzheimer’s disease-themed documentary “The Everlasting Reminiscence” has scored a slew of worldwide gross sales after making a splash at Sundance and Berlin.

Dogwoof, the British gross sales firm specialised in high-profile docs, has introduced a number of offers on “Everlasting Reminiscence,” which gained the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for World Documentary in January and was a latest standout on the Berlinale the place it had its European bow. The new doc is screening later this week on the CPH:DOX documentary movie pageant in Copenhagen.

Dogwoof partnered with MTV Documentary Movies to symbolize “The Everlasting Reminiscence” for worldwide gross sales quickly after its Sundance premiere. They’ve now scored gross sales on the doc to: Edge Leisure (Nordics); Madman (Australia and New Zealand); Sherry Media (Canada); I Surprise Photos (Italy); BTeam Photos (Spain); Periscoop (Benelux); Atnine Movie (South Korea); Synca (Japan); LEV (Israel), and Restart (Former Yugoslavia).

“The Everlasting Reminiscence” follows  veteran Chilean political journalist  Augusto Góngora, who has Alzheimer’s, and his and devoted spouse and carer, former Chilean tradition minister Paulina Urrutia. Augusto isn’t any stranger to constructing an archive of reminiscence, having been answerable for that job following the Pinochet dictatorship and its systematic erasure of collective consciousness. He now turns that work to his personal life, attempting to carry on to his id with the assistance of his beloved.

Selection critic Man Lodge in his assessment praised “Everlasting Reminiscence” saying that the movie “Treats inexorably unhappy materials with a lighter, extra lyrical strategy than most — focusing much less on the day-to-day ravages of residing with Alzheimer’s than on the slippery, transient idea of reminiscence itself, as shaped, held and misplaced each within the particular person thoughts and a wider collective consciousness.”

“The Everlasting Reminiscence” is a Micromundo and Fabula manufacturing, directed and produced by Maite Alberdi, and produced by Juan De Dios Larraín, Pablo Larraín, and Rocío Jadue. It’s govt produced by Marcela Santibañez, Daniela Sandoval, Nicholas Hooper, Julie Goldman, Christopher Clements, Chandra Jessee, and Rebecca Lichtenfeld.

This venture marks the second collaboration between Dogwoof and Alberdi, after they dealt with worldwide gross sales on her earlier work, Oscar-nominated doc “The Mole Agent.”
