Star Nabs Latin American Distribution Rights to ‘I Woke Up with a Dream’

The Walt Disney Co.’s Star Distribution has taken Latin American distribution rights to Argentine writer-director Pablo Solarz’s coming-of-age movie “Desperté con un sueño” (“I Woke Up with a Dream”)

An Argentina-Uruguay co-production, teaming Buenos Aires-based Pampa Movies and Aramos Cine with Montevideo’s Mutante Cine and Bocacha Movies, “I Woke Up with a Dream” screened March 14 on the Málaga Movie Pageant’s most important competitors.

High Argentine producer Pablo Bossi’s Madrid-based firm Gloriamundi is dealing with “I Woke Up with a Dream” rights outdoors Latin America.

Pablo Solarz is a massively standard mid-brow comedy scribe (“Un novio para mi mujer,” “Me casé con un boludo” ) turned director of wider ranging fare with titles comparable to “El último traje,” which snagged the viewers award on the 2018 Miami Movie Pageant. 

“I Wake Up with a Dream,” his third characteristic, premiered at February’s Berlin Movie Pageant version as a part of youth-focused sidebar, Era 14plus.

The movie is a private story of self realization set in Montevideo’ neighborhood of La Paloma and following Felipe, a younger teen who desires of turning into an actor and takes lessons, although hides his ambition from his mom. 

When the chance arises to attend an audition, Felipe escapes by bus for the day. However when he finds himself in want of extending his keep, his lies rebound, uncontrolled.
